I am Susan Shedd, Real Estate Broker, Accredited Buyer’s Agent at Appalachian Realty LLC and a native of the North Georgia mountains. I also have extensive experience in marketing and selling homes and land. Our marketing plan syndicates our listings to over 109 sites across the internet, as well as our own successful website which has been up for over 20 years. This gives our clients amazing exposure and reaches potential buyers across the globe.

I am not your typical Realtor. I’m usually in my jeans and hiking boots, not a dress & heels. I love to walk & show homes and property and will be right with you until we find that missing corner. I enjoy finding the perfect home or property for my clients, welcoming them to the slower, peaceful lifestyle of mountain living and helping them fit in, in their new surroundings. I have been a land specialist for many years and selling homes and property in the mountains of North Georgia is my passion.

I love to ride my Harley and my horse, float the rivers in my kayak & just be outside enjoying the mountains. I’m a blessed person who loves life & believes that putting on a front is not part of my job description. What you see is what you get. I opened Appalachian Realty in 1986 because I wanted to help people find their dreams in these mountains, just as I had found mine several years before. I am driven by my passion for real estate. I enjoy meeting people and making lasting friendships. It is not uncommon for clients to contact me to sell a home or property they purchased through me 20+ years ago.

My husband, Bruce, and I moved up to Doublehead Gap, in Gilmer County back in 1981. We have seen the growth and change here, but much of our county has maintained it’s peacefulness and beauty, in part, because of the large area of Chattahoochee National Forest that surrounds us. The serenity and abundant wildlife have drawn nature lovers from all over the country and the world and it makes living here a wonderful privilege and blessing.

I volunteer at the Gilmer Community Food Pantry where I have been a board member off and on for the past 12+ years. We feed the needy in Gilmer County and I have been blessed to be a part of it. I’m proud to work/volunteer with some of the finest people God ever put on earth who are from several religious affiliations. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ with one goal, to help others.

I am a Leave No Trace Master Educator, Stock Use, which means I teach people how to take care of our mountains and forests (specializing in horse/trail riders/campers) and, generally, how to lower their impact on their surroundings & leave their environment better than they found it. We teach LNT Awareness Workshops & Trainer’s Courses.

I am a Life Member of the NE GA Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club, an Accredited Buyers Agent and an e-pro internet professional. I specialize in locating just the right property for my clients. I’m a Georgia Native. I was born and raised in Atlanta but I’ve always felt close to the mountains. As a child we would often visit my Grandfathers cabin in Rabun County, fishing, hiking and swimming. Those were some of life’s best memories that would one day lead me back to the mountains.

In 2011 my wife Kathy and I purchased property in Gilmer County, just below the Southern end of the Appalachian Trail, with hopes of building our retirement home. After spending countless weekends in the area visiting shops, hiking to waterfalls, exploring the woods and meeting the wonderful people, we knew we couldn’t wait until retirement. We began construction in August 2015 and moved to Blue Ridge in August 2017. We enjoy having our family & friends come up and relax at our cabin, whether playing in the creek, riding ATV’s, or watching the wildlife that crosses our property, there’s always something to do!

I’ve spent 25+ years in the Customer Service industry and understand the value of honesty, integrity and building relationships. My name is Michelle Morgan and I am a licensed Realtor in North Carolina, and a recent newcomer to beautiful western NC. I am very excited to be joining my husband, Terry, in this business.

Over the course of my adult life, I have been a teacher in both public and private schools as well as a homeschool mom to our two boys. Alongside my husband, I have traveled the country and have been blessed by not only the physical beauty our nation has to offer, but the beauty of the people and communities that make up our country’s collective culture. In my role as wife, mother and homeschool teacher, I am usually the one who has had the formidable task of making whatever house we found ourselves living in into our home.     Hi. I'm Robert Hurley. I have worked in the Real Estate Industry for over 20 years. I earned my Florida RE license in 2004 and worked simultaneously in the Mortgage business as a licensed MLO.

    I have extensive knowledge of real estate investing, buying and selling real property, and I'm well versed in rentals as well. I am still writing Mortgage Loans and have all of my client’s needs covered.

    My wife and I moved to Western Carolina in the Summer of 2022 after falling in love with Mountain Life and becoming empty nesters as our kids ventured into college.

    I recently obtained my NC RE license and will soon have my GA license as well. My knowledge and experience in multiple markets makes me a valuable asset for my clients.

    I love the outdoors and hiking and I have real experience on what’s it like to move across state lines. I operate my own AirBNB business and I am willing to share my experience and successes here in the Western Carolina and the North Georgia market.
