I also have extensive experience in marketing and selling homes and land. Our marketing plan syndicates our listings to over 109 sites across the internet, as well as our own successful website which has been up for over 20 years. This gives our clients amazing exposure and reaches potential buyers across the globe.
I am not your typical Realtor. I’m usually in my jeans and hiking boots, not a dress & heels. I love to walk & show homes and property and will be right with you until we find that missing corner. I enjoy finding the perfect home or property for my clients, welcoming them to the slower, peaceful lifestyle of mountain living and helping them fit in, in their new surroundings. I have been a land specialist for many years and selling homes and property in the mountains of North Georgia is my passion.
I love to ride my Harley and my horse, float the rivers in my kayak & just be outside enjoying the mountains. I’m a blessed person who loves life & believes that putting on a front is not part of my job description. What you see is what you get. I’m a person who will treat you kindly and honestly, in any situation. The Golden Rule is one I live by. I have been very blessed and I try to bless others I come in contact with.
I opened Appalachian Realty in 1986 because I wanted to help people find their dreams in these mountains, just as I had found mine several years before. I am driven by my passion for real estate. I enjoy meeting people and making lasting friendships. It is not uncommon for clients to contact me to sell a home or property they purchased through me 20+ years ago.
My husband, Bruce, and I moved up to Doublehead Gap, in Gilmer County back in 1981. We have seen the growth and change here, but much of our county has maintained it’s peacefulness and beauty, in part, because of the large area of Chattahoochee National Forest that surrounds us. The serenity and abundant wildlife have drawn nature lovers from all over the country and the world and it makes living here a wonderful privilege and blessing.
I volunteer at the Gilmer Community Food Pantry where I have been a board member off and on for the past 12+ years. We feed the needy in Gilmer County and I have been blessed to be a part of it. I’m proud to work/volunteer with some of the finest people God ever put on earth who are from several religious affiliations. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ with one goal, to help others.
I am a Leave No Trace Master Educator, Stock Use, which means I teach people how to take care of our mountains and forests (specializing in horse/trail riders/campers) and, generally, how to lower their impact on their surroundings & leave their environment better than they found it. We teach LNT Awareness Workshops & Trainer’s Courses.
I am a Life Member of the NE GA Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club, an Accredited Buyers Agent and an e-pro internet professional. I specialize in locating just the right property for my clients. I go above and beyond what you expect of an agent. That is what has made my business and career successful. You will appreciate my knowledge of the area, my professionalism and my efforts to insure clients and customers are pleased with the service they receive. This keeps our customers and clients returning when the time to purchase or sell real estate arises again.
God has blessed me and my family and I thank him immensely for His Grace. I am proud that he has made me a “Steward of the Land.”
Thank you for reading this. I hope you will allow our buyer's agents to assist you in making your next investment. We specialize in listing and selling homes, farms and North Georgia mountain land.
I’m a Georgia Native. I was born and raised in Atlanta but I’ve always felt close to the mountains. As a child we would often visit my Grandfathers cabin in Rabun County, fishing, hiking and swimming. Those were some of life’s best memories that would one day lead me back to the mountains.
In 2011 my wife Kathy and I purchased property in Gilmer County, just below the Southern end of the Appalachian Trail, with hopes of building our retirement home. After spending countless weekends in the area visiting shops, hiking to waterfalls, exploring the woods and meeting the wonderful people, we knew we couldn’t wait until retirement. We began construction in August 2015 and moved to Blue Ridge in August 2017. We enjoy having our family & friends come up and relax at our cabin, whether playing in the creek, riding ATV’s, or watching the wildlife that crosses our property, there’s always something to do!
I’ve spent 25+ years in the Customer Service industry and understand the value of honesty, integrity and building relationships. Buying & selling real estate can be a stressful experience, especially if you are unfamiliar with the terms, requirements, permits and other issues you may face in different areas of our mountains. Real estate purchases are typically the largest investments you will make in your lifetime and my goal is to make the process as smooth and pleasant as possible, to get all your questions answered and earn your trust so I can be your realtor now & in the future. Helping customers make a smart purchase, whether it be the perfect retirement home, a rental cabin for added income, a weekend getaway or vacant mountain land, I always strive to do the best possible job for my clients and customers.
I do love referrals and to get them, my customers and clients have to be pleased with my service. I look forward to being your Realtor and becoming your friend as well!
Uniquely skilled to be a partner in your new adventure!
One of my favorite things about being a realtor is meeting new people who, like me, desire to walk boldly into the next chapter of their life. As a native Texan, who has been wandering this wonderful country of ours for the last 8 years as a land agent in the oil and gas industry, I am thrilled to find myself back here in the beautiful mountains of western NC! Because I have a special affinity for the laid back and peaceful lifestyle the mountain life offers, I can understand the draw many people experience which entices them to make their stay permanent or just to make their life here better in a new home perfectly suited for their lifestyle.
My family and I have been blessed to live in a variety of areas from large cities to small towns, and I have learned that when building a new life in a new home you need to be able to trust the people you depend upon as you take those next steps. Your realtor is often the first person you go to when making that step. I have the experience that makes me uniquely skilled to be a valuable partner in your new adventure!
I know from personal experience how exciting and daunting buying and selling a home can be and I desire to instil a sense of confidence in my clients as they go through the process. I want to be your partner in your next home buying and selling adventure and I believe that I am uniquely qualified to be the perfect person to walk this journey with you. I'd be honored to be invited to be your realtor! Let's meet soon and get started on making your mountain life dreams come true!
Anyone who has been around me for more than a few minutes has probably heard me say that “Working as a realtor in the North Georgia mountains is like working in a pie factory.” My love of the mountains is rooted in my experiences growing up on a farm in South Carolina. Those days on the farm taught me to love the land, that my word is my bond, and if the job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Here in the mountains, you’ll find people with these values on every corner.
When my family and I moved to North Georgia in 2003, we got involved with the Boy Scouts and spent many weekends camping and hiking these mountains. In 2010, we purchased our first cabin on a trout stream to enjoy and to share with our guests as a vacation cabin rental. I managed our cabin rental business for 9 years, which was a great success. This experience inspired me to become a mountain realtor so that I could help others achieve their dreams of owning a mountain home while building financial wealth.
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy hiking, gardening, and researching genealogy. As a member of the Gilmer County Genealogical Society, I serve as the Vice-President in charge of programs. One of my responsibilities in the Genealogical Society is to bring in speakers from across the country to present talks on how to conduct genealogy research and on local genealogical and historical topics. I thoroughly enjoy inviting clients and friends to meetings to help them get connected in our welcoming mountain community.
In the end, being a realtor is about serving others. The focus is always on my clients and what is best for them. It’s all about the client, all about you. Whether you’re retiring to the mountains, looking for an investment property, or a second home, it would be my honor to serve you.
