When we
were looking for a place to live in retirement back in 1998, we told
all the real estate agents what we wanted: Five or more acres,
lots of privacy and no other houses nearby. It was astonishing
how most of them would show us subdivision homes on one acre lots;
they just did not seem to get it. When we found Susan, she
shoed us several places that met our criteria and we bought one of
them. Over the next ten years, we kept in touch with Susan, now and then would ask her advice about real estate and other things. One of the first things you will notice about Susan is that she answers emails and does it right away. That is especially impressive when one considers that she gets a large number of inquires by email every day from her, very productive, website. This May, when a change in my health made it necessary for us to move closer to my family and leave the mountains, we asked Susan if she would list our property. It never occurred to us to list with any other agent. Near the end of May, she put the property on her website. Within days we had an offer. That offer fell through because of financial issues with the buyer. In mid-June it went back on the market again and within a few days Susan found a buyer. We had to speed up our moving so that we could be out in time for the new owner to take possession the first week in July. Susan arranged everything, so all we had to do was go to closing and sign the papers. We got precisely the asking price. When we find anyone who wants to buy property in the mountains of North Georgia or the nearby states, we tell them to get in touch with Susan at Appalachian Realty. That's all they need to know! My wife and I began looking for a cabin in the Blue Ridge/ Blairsville area during November, 2007. We had been doing some research through the MLS listings on the internet since early fall. In December, we were referred to Susan by a friend who lives in the Blue Ridge area. From the first time we talked, we knew she was the right realtor. Susan was easy to work with, and knew so much about the Blue Ridge/Blairsville area. We talked about what we wanted in a cabin, and also the general area. She gave us a lot of assistance about what to look for, and how to weed out the “problem properties”. She sent us listing information based on our criteria. We would also send her listings that we would see on the internet. We worked together to decide on a list of properties to see on our stays in Blue Ridge. On our second trip working with her, we found just the right property. Susan’s assistance did not stop there. Because of a holiday weekend, we only had about 12 days to complete our inspections, and get our mortgage approval. Again, Susan came through, and got us connected with a local home inspector and a local bank for the mortgage. We completed the necessary tasks with plenty of time to spare. We would highly recommend Susan for real estate needs, whether buying or selling property. Susan
was the total package that you look for in a real estate agent,
friendly, detailed, knowledgeable about the area, and determined
to satisfy us.
She made
us feel like her only customer. There wasn't a single call or
email that went unanswered, within the same day. When it came
to assisting us all the way through the closing, Susan was right
there.
Even
after the deal was done, she continues to be totally
responsive.
I have

In 2000
we approached Susan to assist us in finding a mountain home.
